Brian Carpenter
I was proud to be part of the marvelous cast of The Book of Liz --a hit comedy which ran at The Blank Theatre in Hollywood for 11 months, with 172 performances (I was in the last 57).
I played the pompous, if put-upon, Reverend Joshua Tollhouse, seen here performing his some of his daily prayers:

The Book of Liz was named by The Advocate Magazine as Number 5 on its national Top Ten Best Performances of 2005!!
I was in a "spec" commercial for Crunch Gym, directed by Thomas Richter, which involves a character whose head explodes.(!) Here are a couple of stills from the set, complete with "blood" (Hawaiian Punch syrup) and "brains" (dyed bits of grapefruit):

The Call (Indy Film)
This is the poster for "The Call," (Winner of the John Sayles Award for Best Narrative Short at the Westcliffe Digital Film Festival in Westcliffe, Colorado) The film, in which I play the lead character, was written, directed, shot, and edited by Thomas Richter).

The Men from the Boys (Play)
The sequel to Mart Crowley's historic play "The Boys in the Band," played at the acclaimed Fountain Theatre. It was directed by Stephen Sachs, a winner of the 2002 Ovation Award for Best Director of the Year.
My character was "Donald," an unapologetic drunk. The play ran from July 25 through September 28, 2003.

Institute of Creative Technology (Virtual Reality Film)
One of my more unusual jobs was for the Institute of Creative Technology, which creates virtual reality training films for the military. ICT hired me for "motion capture," using my face as the basis for an animated head that appears in the film. Technicians glued dozens of sensor beads to my face and photographed me with multiple digital cameras while I "emoted."
Above are photos from the set; below are the resulting (slightly scary) clips which show my animated, computer-generated face:
Albert Hall (Theatre)
Shots from the world premiere run of ALBERT HALL, a dark comedy by "Buffy the Vampire Slayer's" Amber Benson.
Fill In the Blank (Theatre)
We Were Soldiers (Feature Film)
Below are shots from the set (all taken by Stephen Vaughan). Click on the thumbnail for a larger version:
Closeups of me as McNamara
McNamara and Westmoreland (Alan Dale) meet with Col. Moore (Mel Gibson)
Babylon 5 (TV)
This sequence chronicles my change from a human actor to an alien Babylon 5 character (Callenn, a Minbari religious leader in the "Atonement" episode). The whole process took about 2 hours to complete:
Photos from "Space Oddity," a short sci fi film in which I play Robert, the richest man on earth and the president of Neuroscape, a high-tech corporation. Robert downloads his own personality into the computer of a spaceship he sends to colonize a distant planet.
Riding with the King (Music Video)
I was in a music video for one of the songs in "Riding with The King," the Eric Clapton/BB King CD. In the video, Eric & BB drive around in a '66 Cadillac convertible and see all sorts of strange people who look up at them as they pass by.
I play a sleazy Vegas vacuum cleaner salesman in a yellow polyester suit who has dropped something important in a gutter by a busstop. As the pair drive by, I'm lying on my stomach on the sidewalk with my hand and my head down the drain. I look up and...they're gone.
